Store Mosse Youth Hostels
Store Mosse Youth Hostels
Deep inside Store Mosse National Park, the historic farms Svänö and Lövö have been transformed into simple hostels run by Vandra med André. Here, you can rent a room, a bed or even the entire house, but this is not a typical stay. There is no electricity and no running water, which makes the experience truly different.
A return to simple living
Instead of modern comforts, you live close to nature and traditional ways of life:
- Water is collected from a well
- Meals are prepared on a wood-fired stove in a shared kitchen
- Most rooms have wood-burning stoves for heating
- Outdoor toilets are located on the property
- Firewood is available on site
Accommodation
Lövö: 16 beds
Svänö: 24 beds
Pillows, duvets and blankets are provided, but you need to bring your own bed linen or sleeping bag. During colder seasons, a sleeping bag is strongly recommended, as it can take time to heat up the buildings.
Nature & surroundings
The farms are surrounded by the unique landscape of Store Mosse, with a mix of open wetlands, forest and traditional grazing land. The area has a rich cultural history, and you’ll find everything from old cultivated trees to meadows filled with wildflowers. This is a place for those who want to disconnect, experience nature up close and try a more simple way of living, even if just for a night or two.
